1934 untersuchte ein Regierungsausschuss einen Geheimplan einflussreicher amerikanischer Industrieller, Präsident Roosevelt zu entmachten und eine Diktatur nach italienischem Vorbild zu errichten. Unter den Hintermännern war möglicherweise auch der Großvater des jetzigen Präsidenten

Aufgedeckt wurde das Vorhaben ausgerechnet von der Vorläuferorganisation des Ausschusses für un-amerikanische Umtriebe, dem McCormack-Dickstein-Committee. Bei dem hatte sich der Ex-Marine Major General Smedley Butler gemeldet, an den die Gruppe über Gerald MacGuire herangetreten war. Der New Yorker Broker hatte Butler im Verlauf mehrerer Treffen zwischen Juli und November 1933 nach und nach die Pläne einer Gruppe von Industriellen und Bankiers enthüllte, in deren Auftrag er handelte.

Diese wollten Roosevelt und den Kongress entmachten und eine Diktatur nach italienischem Vorbild errichten. Teil des Plans war, dass eine Pressekampagne über Roosevelts Gesundheitszustand und seine Fähigkeit das Land zu regieren lanciert werden sollte. Möglich wäre dies nach den Aussagen Butlers dadurch gewesen, dass die Gruppe den wichtigsten Teil der amerikanischen Presse kontrolliert hätte.

Butler sollte im Rahmen dieses Plans eine halbe Million unzufriedener Weltkriegsveteranen in einer Privatarmee organisieren, die dann als nützliche Idioten die Rolle der SA spielen sollte.

Will Bush Cancel The 2008 Election?

It is time to think about the “unthinkable.”

The Bush Administration has both the inclination and the power to cancel the 2008 election.

The GOP strategy for another electoral theft in 2008 has taken clear shape, though we must assume there is much more we don’t know.

But we must also assume that if it appears to Team Bush/Cheney/Rove that the GOP will lose the 2008 election anyway (as it lost in Ohio 2006) we cannot ignore the possibility that they would simply cancel the election. Those who think this crew will quietly walk away from power are simply not paying attention.

The real question is not how or when they might do it. It’s how, realistically, we can stop them.
